Child Health Clinic
For children 2 months of age to 21 years of age. The Child Health Clinic provides well child screenings, kindergarten, daycare and sports physicals. It is recommended that all children have regular well child screenings to ensure optimal health, growth and development. The following is the Macon County Public Health Center's recommended schedule for well child screenings:
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 12 months
- 15 months
(this screening may be done at 9 months instead)
- 18 months
- 2 years
- Yearly after 2 Years Old
During a Child Health Clinic appointment, your child will receive a comprehensive screening which may include the following services:
- Health history
- Review of immunizations
- Physical exam
- Hearing and vision screening
- Developmental screening
- Assessment of growth
- Health, safety, and nutritional counseling
- Laboratory testing (hemoglobin, urinalysis, blood lead level)
Cost:
Macon County Public Health Center accepts some insurance, Medicaid and NC Health Choice. However, if your insurance doesn't cover the cost of a well child screening, the cost for the Child Health Clinic will be based on a sliding fee scale.
