DEPUTIES BACK TO WORK
On May 6, 2004, Sheriff Holland received written notification from the District Attorney’s
Office concerning their preliminary review of the SBI investigation into the shooting of suspect Loren Green by
two Macon County deputies. Sheriff Holland had previously had communications with the SBI concerning the
incident as well. Sheriff Holland also reviewed the videotape from the in-car-video that shows the incident
as it unfolded. At the conclusion of this review of the video and these communications, Sheriff Holland
was advised that it would be appropriate for all three deputies involved in the incident to return to
their regular duty assignments. Sheriff Holland states, "I am confident that my officers acted appropriately
and I stand behind their actions."
Effective immediately, Deputies Bryant Hodgin, Adam Wishon and Sergeant Jonathan Phillips will be placed back
on their normal duty assignments. Sheriff Holland states, "These deputies are good officers and were clearly
attempting to do the job that is expected of them. All three deputies will continue to have my full support and
the full support of their fellow officers."

The weekly incidence reports and arrest records are available in the 'Franklin Press'.
