Recommended Budget FY 2011 - 2012

Macon County operates on a fiscal year, which begins July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year. The 2010-11 general fund budget is $42,021,521.00. The County Manager's Office presents a proposed budget to the Board of Commissioners in May. The budget is in accordance with the North Carolina Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act.

The Macon County Board of Commissioners adopts the budget in June after holding public hearings. This is called the final budget.
