Message from the Macon County Register of Deeds

Welcome to the Macon County Register of Deeds Website.

The Register of Deeds' office is the custodian and manager of public records. The office is subject to various laws governing the care and maintenance of these records and access to them.

The office has two main areas of public records
  • Real Property Records
  • Vital Records

We have copies of birth and death records back to 1913; however we have some births in the late 1800's and early 1900's. These births are delayed births and were obtained by the child after 1913.

Requests for these records should be made in writing. Names and dates must be given in order for us to look up the information for genealogists. Uncertified copies are $0.25 each.
