Marriage licenses may be obtained between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). The license is good for 60 days from the date of issuance and may be used in any county in the state of North Carolina.

Applicants 18 years of age and older must present picture identification

All applicants must provide their Social Security numbers and verification of the number. Applicants may present their Social Security card, a numi sheet from the Social Security office, tax return or pay stub. If an applicant does not have a Social Security number, they must present a sworn statement to that effect
